Back in late 2001
Had a plan that seemed like a lot of fun
Or at least a viable use of my day
I was a regular New Year's Eve-r
But that year I got stuck with an awful fever
So I couldn't celebrate anyway
I was bitter and angry and generally marred
So I took out my McCartney ripoff guitar
And to let out my aggression, I used it
I said, "If I can't party with my friends
Then I guess it makes just as much sense
Just to rip into other people's music"
For X number of years I've held back my tears
Listening to these bands
So I guess you could say I'm a guy with way
Too much time on my hands
Since then, it's become a yearly tradition
My messed up form of an artistic vision
To lambaste and swipe the musical curve
It doesn't make a difference of genre or style
'Cause I'm always going the extra mile
To make sure those songs get what they deserve
If you're popular then you're dead meat
I'll just back your vocals with an oom-pah beat
And every year I'm just getting warmer
Ill try my hand at that bubblegum crap
And it's pretty awful when I try to rap
'Cause I'm whiter than the guy who sang "Informer"
(A licky boom boom down)
For X number of years, I've put my ass in gear
For my dozens of fans
I don't really feel bad even though I've had
So much time on my hands
Now I'm gonna solo
I know it's hard to pick out this stuff
But honestly, I can't get enough
All the lack of cultured artists, I hate 'em
I think it's fun to tear into their clout
'Cause what do you think they'd say if they found out
Some Jewish punk from Jersey could replicate 'em?
So I've taken a knife to my own social life
And dropped other plans
For this opus I've got, I've sacrificed a lot
All that time on my hands
Jeez, that was stupid
